Future Builders – Rock Trust

Future Builders is a 12 -16-week programme for young people, that aims to break the cycle of homelessness. Young people can access training and/or education relevant to them, at the same time as building the skills needed to live in their own tenancy and build their own future. At the end of the course participants will move into their own affordable tenancies.

Housing First for Youth – RockTrust & Almond Housing

The Rock Trust Housing First project supports care leavers aged 16- 25 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in West Lothian. The Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) project operated as a 31-month pilot, starting in September 2017. It aimed to offer access to appropriate independent housing, provided through Almond Housing Association and West Lothian Council, alongside intensive, on-going support from project workers.

Rent Deposit Scheme (for private rented sector)

How

The rent deposit scheme provides landlords with a guarantee certificate in place of a traditional cash deposit. This security bond (a formal agreement) protects the landlord from rent arrears or damage to the property. Claims can be submitted by landlords in case of property damage as a result of the tenant’s actions, or failure to meet rent requirements.
